South Gippsland - Victoria - Australia
- photographs, information, interesting things to see and do -
Yarram is a medium sized rural town in South Gippsland that relies mainly on it's farming industry. It's a comfortable 3 hour trip south-east of Melbourne and about a 220 kilometer drive. The peaceful resort and fishing village of Port Albert, and the beautiful ninety mile beach are conveniently only short trips away.
How To Get To Yarram - Take the Princes Highway out of Melbourne and travel through Warragul and Moe, then turn right at Traralgon. Alternatively you could find your way to the South Gippsland Highway, drive through Korumburra, Leongatha, Koonwarra, Meeniyan, Stoney Creek, Foster, Toora, Agnes, Welshpool, Hedley and Alberton before you get to Yarram.
When traveling from New South Wales take the Princes Highway to Sale then turn onto the South Gippsland Highway.
Yarram Golf Club - You'll find a friendly, well-kept golf course about 1 kilometer north of Yarram on the South Gippsland Highway. For more details and photographs, see the Yarram Golf Club page.
Yarram Club Hotel - This partly restored heritage building is located in an ideal position on the South Gippsland Highway which runs through the center of Yarram.
The friendly hotel proprietors have opened up a variety of rooms ideal for large functions, small gatherings, meetings, parties, weddings etc. They also offer very cheap accommodation, pub TAB facilities and a delightful and very beautiful 'glasshouse restaurant' serving a delicious selection of meals.
Photographs Taken At Yarram - I had a ball taking these photographs of Yarram and the surrounding area, as the town has some amazing buildings with historical significance. I'm looking forward to going back again next month and taking some more.
