Photos And Useful Information About Woodside
The small township and surrounding area of Woodside on the South Gippsland Highway between Yarram (20 kilometres away) and Sale (53 kilometres away) is host to less than 300 permanent residents but grows in number over the holiday periods. Technically Woodside is part of Wellington Shire and Woodside Beach is classified as the beginning (southern end) of the Ninety Mile Beach.
How To Get To Woodside
Take the Princes Highway out of Melbourne and travel through Warragul and Moe, then turn right at Traralgon. Alternatively you could find your way to the South Gippsland Highway, drive through Korumburra, Leongatha, Koonwarra, Meeniyan, Stoney Creek, Foster, Toora, Agnes, Welshpool, Hedley, Alberton and Yarram prior to reaching Woodside. When travelling from New South Wales take the Princes Highway to Sale then turn onto the South Gippsland Highway.
About The Facilities In Woodside Township
The Woodside township itself is located 10 kilometres inland from the Woodside Beach. Facilities here include a petrol station, service station, a local country pub, primary school, church and caravan park. The old Woodside General Store and post office is pictured below, however I’ve been told that it burned down a few years ago.
