How To Get To Port Albert – Port Albert is just over a 3 hour road trip from Melbourne along the South Gippsland Highway, through Korumburra, Leongatha, Foster and Welshpool. It’s then only a short drive from where you turn-off at Alberton (just before the Caltex service station). An alternate route from Melbourne is to drive east along the Princes Highway to Traralgon, turn right towards Yarram on the Hyland Highway, then on to the South Gippsland Highway. If you are traveling from New South Wales, take the Princes Highway to Sale, then the South Gippsland Highway through to Yarram. You will find the Wild Fish Restaurant right on the harbour front in Port Albert. (PLEASE NOTE: The wildfish restaurant and Port Albert Wharf Fish & Chip Shop, was apparently closed in 2022, due to a dispute between the owner and the council about the amount of rent that was reasonable).
