Photographs Taken at an Inspiring Artist’s Community Exhibition, called ‘Place’ by Marilyn Ardley.
This progressive exhibition encouraged broad community involvement, and was held at the Stockyard Gallery in Foster, August 2009. Marilyn encouraged members of the local Corner Inlet Community in South Gippsland, to have their photo displayed along with special words or quotes from each person. They were also asked to collect sand or soil and place it below the their picture to symbolize where they have come from. It was interestingly beautiful and quite moving.
Take a look through the pictures below to get an idea of how this unique concept was cleverly displayed, and to see various local identities who attended the opening night, including South Gippsland Shire Council Members, business owners, other artists and personalities.
